Purchase a 3 month sub right now (or anytime in November as Inc had mentioned) and you'll get access to the ship. If you're NOT HERE for the 5 year anniversary it shouldn't matter that you WERE here for a long time at some point in the past, you're not here now so you have no right to complain!

Anyways, everyone CAN get access to the ship, but it seems many want the privilege for free. Suck it up, buy 3 months, get the ship! Or suck it up and don't have a shiny texture on your corvult. Either way it's up to you, this is a PROMO that's supposed to get more people in and playing, if you don't wanna play or pay then you get nothing. makes perfect sense :)

Sorry, even if the *special* varients had just 1 point upgrade in every area, that would make them special, a new paint job? Might float the boats of poeple who make skins and stuff, do not see how this would attract new players, lets see the ads:

Vendetta Online, Special Promo, Ship skin that everyone will get eventually who plays our game.

Vendetta Online! Special Promo, new players with this code get a 5% performance upgrade once they qualify for Vulture Mk 1/Hog Mk1/Rev mk2.

[edit]

Ya'lll need to focus on drawing in new players, forget us long term guys, we are obviously long term guys, we need fresh meat to form.

Yeah yoda, that'll sound great:

Vendetta Online! A game where it's your mad skillz that get you places, not how long you've been playing! Except for these special ships that are better than anything your newb ass can ever buy because you didn't subscribe at the right time!

I think the new skins are a sweet way to celebrate the anniversary, since they give newbs like me something to hold over newbs like smittens, all while giving sensible newbs in the same boat as smittens nothing to whine about, since all they're missing out on is a shiny new texture.

btw, the new vulture looks pretty sweet. Love the asymmetry

I happen to like it better in dark brown (yellow+reds), it gets kind of a "techno-camo" thing going on. It's cool in dark red, too. Anyway, glad you like it :). The fact that it actually has colors on the texture makes for interesting color-combos with the dynamic coloration. The normal vult texture is completely gray, so that doesn't happen.

Sweet! I wonder how this will look with my "Kill Bill" Yellow & Black Corvult Edition.

Oh, and, "Very Cool, Incarnate!" Since this thread devolved into bitching not three hours after it was posted, apparently.

The new vulture model looks sweet to me. Cheers.

genka, I tend to agree with your assessment as a general rule, but a 1-2% increase in performance will only make a difference in the outcome of an encounter at the very furthest margins, while it will provide a much larger 'I really like this ship' psychological boost.

That being said, it's a nice color job.

Smittens, stop whining and spend the $28 or whatever it is. Better yet, man up and drop the $150 for 24 months--I feel a lot better about VO's lack of endgame when I'm paying $6 a month for it.

I like the special edition ship. I hope lots of players make the three month subs.

How about a 5th anniversary Gat Turret for all current subscribers. Blue bolts could transition to brilliant red.

On further thought, I think there should be a different pirate skinned ship for the 5th anniversary: all black Greyhound. I had some sort of a bug the other day where my Hound showed up as all black except for the cockpit canopy, and it looked amazing.

Pllllleeeeassse?! :D

I like the new CV, i would like to see a drop the HP by 1.4k, drop the drain to 57 and up the boost thrust by 20k that oughta make a neato ship.
Nov 03, 2009 peytros link
oh lame inc you should give me access to the ship cause i have to pay month by month but i don't think i have an unbroken 3 months record :(

EDIT oh i didn't know a lot of other people where bitching when i posted this, I don't find it to be a huge deal so w/e

Yea i would rather a popcorn gun that shoots rainbows and lollypops

or Firework konc mines.
Nov 03, 2009 Dr. Lecter link
Actually, I think spidey is really on to something here. Maybe there could be a super-duper anti-pirate gun that shoots out rainbows and carebears, and does training blaster level damage.

It would be accessible only to [VPR].

How long will the vults be around?
Nov 04, 2009 Pointsman link
Kierky:

Incarnate says Once the inclusion period is over, and the newbie keys are gone, no one new will gain access to this ship. It's a limited-edition thing. It'll always be in the game, but the ships will only be purchasable by those who were here for the 5-year Anniversary.

Okay, I changed my subscription, although you'll get less money from me that way... but I'd do anything to get my hands on that vulture :D

Regarding the subscription requirements:

We're looking for people to be subbed for at least three months contiguously. So if you've been paying $9.99 per month, for the last three months (without interruption), you're fine. Ie, Tosh, you might have been fine as-is.

People with billed 3, 6, 12 and 24 month subscriptions will also be fine.

I merely suggested doing the 3-month thing, as this would allow people who are not currently subscribed (or have had interruptions, or only subbed recently) to gain access to the vulture as cheaply as possible.

So, basically, the only active people who might not get the new vultures, without some intervention on their part, are month-to-month subscribers who a) only subbed recently or b) have a lot of interruptions (PBC, etc). For them, the safe bet is to get the 3-month.

Now, it is notable that our internal credit-card billing system does not bill subscribers until their existing purchased time is used. So, if you were monthly, and changed to 3-month, the billing won't actually go through until the existing (paid) month is finished. So, you may not appear in the database as a 3-month person until that happens. This is not a big deal, as we will continue to walk the database for the holidays, to make sure we catch everyone. It may slightly delay your access to the Vulture, of course, until the billing happens and is picked up by our search.
