TO FORUM MODERATOR: I'm aware this should be in the role play forum but this voting will only last for 3 days and the general forums get more attention.

We have started the election of the Itani Nation Council for control over the Itani Nation Military. If you are on the Itani Nation and have above 30k score (or we know you're loyal to the Itani Nation), then you can vote. Sorry, you also need to sign up to StarFreeze's boards to vote (which is actually not a bad thing).

Itani Nation Council Election:
http://www.starfreeze.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=15512

After the election: Out of the candidates, 7 with the most votes will be selected to be on the Itani Nation Council, with one of them the Supreme Leader from among themselves. The council will then command the Itani Nation Military for one term which is 3 months long.

The vote for the "Supreme Leader" will be after the Itani Nation Council Election.

NOTE: ONLY REPLY IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION.

Belongs in Role Playing.

Plus, haven't you Itani learned yet that this doesn't work until we have official support in the game? At the very least you should wait for ICE. Nevertheless, good luck.

Arolte, I'm guessing you don't have a clue exactly what ICE is....

And what's with the flame? if you don't like it, don't participate.

If it's formed, and is successful, I'll switch back to blue...

rofl, just realised the "Only reply if you have a question" thing...sorry fm

I'm sorry but most players go here and not the role playing board. I tend to forget we even have that board. This is Vendetta related anyway.

Also, in the Itani Military discussion thread, you can see we are clearly aware of the fact that all government / military of every nation haven't done so well. Please, don't tell me your nation has a great one.. because, I don't even see Serco's... not even in action. And Neurtal's... I think I remember it became into a no gov/mil nation (I don't mean that's a bad thing. That's actually how everything has been running for months for all nations).

I'm not one of the people who think this will work. I'm only posting this here to get people to vote.

Uh, how do I do this if I've been arbitrarily banned from SF's forums for merely wondering out loud if he was Kastin Thunderclaw. In my opinion, you only weaken your government and make it more useless and meaningless if you ban the few people interested in being a part of guilds. Just a thought.

Yes, that is a question. I would like to be involved, but SF has a problem with personal preferences interfering with his service to Vendetta that prevents me from accesssing his boards (or, if I did, it's been promised that any posts that I make be wiped).
Oct 26, 2003 FiReMaGe link
SirCamps, woops. Sorry, this is not actually associated with StarFreeze (although he's a canidate), we only chose his message boards to place the voting. Also, if you're offended that we did not make you a canidate (yeah, we didnt, :P), it's because you are the leader of the DS Guild. That's in a positive way. I didn't really choose that either, so I'm only saying what I can think of that's close to what's the truth.

Anyway, I'll try to get you unbanned so you can vote.
Oct 26, 2003 StarFreeze link
SirCamps please try the forums/site before posting that you are banned. According to all my information it's been weeks since you have been banned. "(or, if I did, it's been promised that any posts that I make be wiped)." posts never get deleted on my forum unless they are considered very offensive.

So why bother checking? Well, I'll at least go exercise my "privilege" of voting, if I can... I see no point in calling the elected leader the true leader if you ban your political enemies from voting. Also, wouldn't it be better to pick a more neutral board for voting, say, here on Guild, or a place like Roguelazer's?
Oct 27, 2003 StarFreeze link
Mine would be the most neutral as I only watch the Multi-nation and Extra parts of my forum. The rest I let FiReMaGe, Lil_Panda, and some other moderators take care of.

Roguelazer's is more pointed to Itani nation or so I have been told a lot of times.

I have nothing to do on this voting system where or how it works. A group of Itani made it and choose my board to do the vote on.

Back to the topic...keep voting people. Good votes but we need more(or so it looks like). :)

i have some question. it is not supposed to be inflammatory, i merely wonder.

what percentage of success do you, the candidates, and voting committee, give the new government of the itani nation?
what are the circumstances of this election? do the ones who are elected in the end have to reach an absolute majority (i.e. >50% of the votes)? and on what part of itani nation does that percentage apply? you cannot use the entire population, since there are many, many users who don't even play with their itani chars anymore, or do not play at all, having had only a blue char.

as soon as the government is formed, i shall be pleased to welcome an emissary to the corps diplomatique.
Oct 27, 2003 FiReMaGe link
First, we don't call it a government. It's the Itani Nation Council and Itani Nation Military. The voting deals with the Itani Nation Council. The Itani Nation Council will have command over the Itani Nation Military.

Second, do your questions make references to how actual governments vote? If so, that's why I have trouble understanding your questions. The voting is not actually based on real government voting.

I'd like for you to restate your questions if you still wonder about them.
Oct 27, 2003 toshiro link
i was wondering how you decide in the end who won the election into the council (the fact of it being a council duly noted).

and, how do you think it will perform? i'm serious about this, and i will support this council if i can and think it necessary (in diplomatic realtions as well as mere in-game favors, if needed at all).

thirdly, will you provide for an emissary to join the diplomatic corps?
if you don't feel like responding to any one of these questions, feel free to do so, they are stated simply out of curiosity.
Oct 27, 2003 FiReMaGe link
The candidates get into the council by having the most valid votes. Votes which are made by Itani Nation Members that have an Itani Nation character with a score higher than 30k. They don't need to have 30k sore if we know they are loyal to the Itani Nation.

The seven to have the most votes will be in the council. If there is a tie at the lower end (ex: Three canidates have 6 votes while the other twelve have 3 votes. The twelve being the lower end. ), then we hold another election discluding the ones at the higher end who have been accepted into the council after the first election.

The "Supreme Leader" will be elected in a different way and there will probably be another post for that.

At the state of the current game, the council is useless. We are basically establishing the council and military for after the reset. I have no idea how the gameplay will be after the reset. The last reset was rather blurry, but I remember players becoming rich in seconds, giving a very poor foundation for any council/military/government.

I suspect this reset will be different because of the dynamic economy, so I can't really tell how it'll be. The council may prove to be strong if the trade squad have trade secrets for trading (meaning credits will be the reason to follow orders) and players not in the trade squad have trouble gaining a wealthy amount of credits. This is just my opinion though and not of the Itani Nation members that have started the new council and are planning the new military.

For the emissary question, I'd have to talk to the Itani Nation members that have started the council and are planning the military.

Wow. Active topic. :D
Oct 27, 2003 SirCamps link
Um, I may have missed this, but what is the Itani Military, exactly?
Oct 27, 2003 spectre_c_me link
so what fm is saying is this: a council shall be voted on and from the council members a council leader shall be voted for... (or did you mean that the other itani people will vote for the council leader after the council is formed????)

this council will control the military and vote for "laws" for the nation

am i correct????

now see if someone invited me to the itani nation then i would be a person to be active in this council... i may not be a good pilot but im pretty good at making good decisions and im a pretty regular player.... (brought to my attention by an itani player very recently...)

fm are you sure that 30k score is high enough??? i mean i made that the 1st day and i wasnt really loyal to itani back then... the other nations just never did anything to get my attention so yeah...

-io

itani are voting for this council only right???
Oct 27, 2003 Durgia link
Yes the council will elect the leader from their own ranks. So there will end up being 6 council members with 1 leader. The leader is more of a Tie breaker and deciding vote type of position.

More will be released about the Itani Military after the council vote has been completed I would think.
Oct 27, 2003 FiReMaGe link
Well, I didn't decide 30k, but it used to be 5k, so hey... If you're wondering about the Itani Nation Military (People seem to be dropping the "Nation" ... Is it supposed to be that way? I think that's strange), read the Itani Nation Military Discussion thread linked in the first post of this thread.

IO, the candidates have been chosen already by the people who were active in a meeting that roguelazer made (by hunting every important Itani Nation member down during one time). Pyro, ScubaSteve, and Mordok were voted to be candidates by these people. Sorry, but I guess because you've been playing under invisiblish one (Neurtal), we didn't choose you.

But, IO, you still have a chance to be squad leader or be high ranked within a squad of the Itani Military.
