Where to buy dents

That some players have billions of credits is the least of VO's economy woes. That players can still make millions of credits in a very short amount of time for doing jack shit is the more pressing concern I think.

Well that's nice of TRI. :)

Every time a player talks about earning 20 million in an hour on the forums, I feel like I must be doing something wrong; I've been playing for 12 years, and trading up 1 million in an hour is a much more realistic benchmark for me.

The pron run makes 4mil and takes less than an hour. I've been doing it cos its the easiest one to do and most TGFT don't tank it. However back in the day gat runs could do easily 20+mil per hour. Now with the nerf you can't do that I think rails and some other random weapons are the best bet bit they are lower profit margins.

It should be harder than it is, but the value of tridents will be inflated because its the best achievement you can get. When they release something better it will have a different value.

@Darth ".. until the old timers that got hundreds of billions from the faulty trade system of olde, spend all their money .."

The problem is that in the current system there is nothing that can get billions of credits out of the economy. The transactions with really high costs are all p2p, and that money stays in the player economy. Credits only leave the (player) economy when players buy stuff at stations, and nothing there costs anything that makes a dent in their coffers. Trident insurance is costly, but I don't think anyone is going to lose their dent a couple thousand times.

The only ways to reduce the inequality between the pre-nerf and post-nerf players are "taxation" and inflation. Taxation (eg the devs taking away 99% of all fortunes >1M) will probably not be good for dev-vet relations. Inflation might be a better idea: just slowly jack up all prices in player-computer trade and at some point there will be a decent equilibrium.

Probably, the right amount of inflation is the difference between what a good trader could earn per hour pre-nerf (20M? 100M?) and what a similar trader can consistently earn now (1M? 5M?). Suppose that the ratio between these is 1:20, if the devs inflate all prices by a factor 20 than the trading effort pre-nerf will carry over to the new system fairly.

Tridents are pricey because there is so much work and risk involved in building them. Even owning a trident and having built the equivalent of two more plus, there is nothing currently in game worth making me want to sell or trade. The few trades that I have done have been based purely as acts of friendship.

This in my opinion has nothing to do with a few players with billions of credits that do nothing but look pretty or the ability of players to make a few million credits in a short amount of time.

I can make around 10 million credits doing the butterfly trade through serco in an XC within a couple of hours. The key is mostly knowing what sells well between the different station types- which is universal unless something is tanked, which is rare. While this is a fundamental problem with the economy because it makes trade boring, it does not impace the value of a trident which is another animal entirely.

I can also do pretty well trading gats and neuts depending on how fast they tank.

Wow fluffy, I've never seen anyone who is as bored and jaded as you in the entire VO history. Usually people go on a hiatus before they get to the point you are at now.

Umn... I am on hiatus. I've logged on twice in the last week or so for about 5 minutes each time to test a couple of game pads I'm considering trying as an alternative to my usual joystick setup. Before that, I logged on for an hour and let a couple of FAMY chase my SVG through Grey while running a few voys. Respect to YT, he almost got me a couple of times at wormholes.

And really, I think it's less to do with VO and more to do with my changing desires and tastes. I don't want to be invested in a game for several hours a day, most days of the week anymore. I want to log on, scratch the itch and move on.

Logging in a few times a week and still having a presence on the forums do not count as a hiatus. If you are truly on a hiatus, you wouldn't be doing those things.

TRS what is the pron run?

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe it's actually spelled this way: "porn run."

The pron run is corvus holo disks from Odia to Sol II or Itan capitals. Usually done in a trident.
