Question about Pre 1.9 game codes

Aug 25, 2016 drow01 link
A bit over a year ago VO pushed out a request for us to help get 1.9 here by buying a year sub and with that we would get a new exclusive ship when 1.9 was released. Well that year has come and gone and no 1.9.
My question is since this is taking longer than promised, my one year sub has run out. So do I now lose out on that promised and paid for ship when 1.9 does come around? I got a tight budget and just can't see buying back in until closer to the end of the year.

So those of us who helped out financially when you asked a year ago still be rewarded for getting you guys the cash you needed to push the game forward?

And if this is in wrong section sorry, was trying to find a direct "contact us" link but could find that.

I'm not really familiar with what you're referencing?

We ran a sale back in June of 2015, which included discount codes for one-year subscriptions. It was intended to help fund 1.9 development, and it also inherently included access to a special exclusive ship which was already in the game (ie the Corvus Greyhound Camo-edition). It did not promise any additional special ships with the "launch" of 1.9, or anything like that. By becoming a 1-year subscriber, you automatically received the Long Term ship reward.

You can read the actual newsletter here.

Considering how unpredictable the "1.9" timing has been, and for how long, I would have not been inclined to tie an exclusive content-drop to that launch. 1.9 is still a big target for us, but was de-railed last fall in favor of grant money to do VR development. Hence all the VR development since then. The lack of announced change in direction was due to corporate NDAs with VR platform companies.

There was also a totally unrelated promo we did in August of 2015, which was related to the EverSpace Kickstarter. In there, we promised a special ship-livery to those who contributed to their Kickstarter (and one free one-year sub to a single lucky winner). Of course, the only way we could actually make good on this (effectively) was if they sent out the keys to their backers, which was what we worked out with them in advance of the promo. But, they have not sent out the keys yet. They've had some delays for good (and difficult) reasons, and they told me as recently as E3 this-year that they want to feature the VO tie-in promo prominently in a big email (by way of thanks to us), and not jam it into the bottom of a major announcement where it gets glossed over by most people. Anyway, I believe it is still in the works.

Of course, the EverSpace thing has nothing to do with VO 1.9.

So, I think perhaps you misunderstood something? You've had access to the Camo Edition greyhound for the entire year you've been subbed.

So, is the ship livery that was supposed to come with the EverSpace KS deal done? You're just waiting on them to send out the keys?

Yeah, the livery was done back in.. I dunno, a couple of months after we did the newsletter.

That being said, I did also hold them up a little later on, so we could redo our signup page to make it mobile-compatible.

But, yes, at this point we're all good to go, they have the keys, they just need to send them out.

Nice. I hope that livery looks fancy. The prototype you posted back then was interesting.

The next major version of the game, VO 1.9, is expected to debut within the next month or two

1 year later lol, but I love how the game is still up and running and it's like a small elite:dangerous and a lot of the community is nice and fun.

One of the things in the Long Term Subscriber offer was that those on the LTS list would get first look at "ships, game areas..." and the like. Is that still a plan?
Aug 29, 2016 incarnate link
Yeah, basically the LTS is intended to be a bit of an early-access group for conditions where we want to do kind of a "late-beta" or new content, in a production game environment.

I cannot guarantee how many circumstances will fit this kind of idea. I'm not going to unfairly imbalance the game in favor of LTS people (where an early preview would give some real advantage). But I am in favor of an early testing-group when possible and appropriate.

Perhaps for ship previews, LTSers might utilise the test-server PCC test with? No in-game advantage to anything in the test environment ;)
