[IGPK update]

[intercept. Source: SCAR/Dr. Lecter:] "IGPK: Your indecision is troubling. I believe it to be my fault, having provided you with an insufficiently persuasive incentive. I will remedy this at my earliest convience."

The implication is of course, that SCAR or perhaps a rogue Lt. Lecter intends hostility toward members of the IGPK for mining activities within Serco space.

This hostility is regretable and short-sighted in light of essential economic rolls the IGPK and UIT play within Serco space. Economic retaliation is an option that we must explore and discuss.

Orus, Lydia, et al. (IGPK) SCAR is the least of your worries. The Void awaits.

"Economic retaliation" against one who has more extensive knowledge of the sectors of the universe? Ineffective. Defending yourselves? Pathetically amusing.

I am coming to claim you all.

[Itani. IA Lt. [IA] stands ready to assist in the case of Lecter attack. I'll bring my spare liver, fava beans and several bottles of nice Chianti to distract him...[end]

Economic report. The cost of war has never been so low.
Heliocene prices throughout Serco space and outlying UIT space have tumbled. Prices below 600 have been widely reported with stations inventories high. Forecasts indicate this trend to continue. Prices remain high within Itani space and selected outlying grey space locations.

Recommended Council agenda for discussion:

In light of the SCAR agression, I strongly recommend we discuss this latest apparent offer of defense from IA.

Significant private bounties have been offered for the locations of certain select ore fields within Serco space. Should we contact these interested parties to enter into negotiation? It is only a matter of time before new and yet undiscovered wormholes permit expansion into yet uncharted region. It is my recommendation that we have on hand sufficient capital to invest in stations and Capital Ship for this inevitable and potential hugely profitable quest.

[Personal Log : Henry Jekyll]

Recently I have joined the new mining guild, strangely named IGPK, in light of them facing some aggression from all sides, including the guilds SCAR and SYN. While SYN has a good reason : they are pirates after all, the SCAR guild seems have no excuse other than to pad their egos by shamelessly showing off their rather crude ability to handle the SkyCommand Prometheus against the inexperienced miners of IGPK.

While I can fight back against the SYN pilots, being Serco I am impotent against the big mouth bullies of SCAR. I think I know how to fly a Serco Guardian Vulture though, and so I have offered to help out training some of the newer pilots in IGPK in combat.

I do hope that IGPK do not have to resort to asking for protection from a nation-centered guild like the [IA], since it just means that we are legitimizing ourselves as targets for Serco-centered SCAR and the pirates of SYN. But desperate times called for desperate measures I suppose. Let us pray that this is not a permanent solution.

(1) Your major issue lies with Me, rather than SCAR, Jekyll. I will eliminate IGPK wherever and whenever I encounter them. SCAR has its own agenda and seems likely to persue some sort of mutually beneficial accord. As to my activities, the Void awaits you, Serco though your IFF may be.

(2) SCP is a poor weapon for hunting and killing miners. Even the AFK fools tend to awaken and attempt to flee after that first tri-rocket volley. The bulk of SCAR flies a Rev C or SVG in combat, the one exception being Commander Dawg. Exceptions are also made for fighting multiple VPR scumbags at the same time in B8.

My Centuar III or Valk shall introduce all to the Void.

[Personal Log : Henry Jekyll, Supplemental]

It seems that I have received an untraceable personal comm message from a Dr. Lecter, formerly of SCAR. Unsurprisingly, despite his resignation from SCAR, his behaviour is still as belligerent as the colours he formerly wears. They are right that you can't make a Serco out of an Itani by sticking implants into his brain.

Somewhat more surprisingly, however, is his assertion that he has problems killing miners with rockets. I am a bit bemused. Apparently, he is unaware of some of the tricks one can employ with the SkyCommand and rockets that will leave a victim no escape from a vise of death. This seems to give strength to my convictions, that there is not much behind the facade of their Prometheuses, which he admits to SCAR will fly anytime they face a fight.

[update]

Intercepts from SCAR and its Lieutenant indicates some fractioning within the Guild. SCAR's Lieutenant is now MIA following a brief altercation with IGPK Lt. Lydia which left the IGPK Lieutenant in receipt of a few crates of scrap metal plus the Bounty on the SCAR Lieutenant's head.

Unexpected distant sector Hive developments have served to broaden IGPK's control over key rare ores with reports of minable uber-asteroids verified and mapped.

Guild resources now approach 50 million and ore inventories are at record volumn. I recommend that Council must soon meet to discuss recent rumours regarding an imminent release of Capital Class Ship and whether such purchases are adviseable.

The filtering of your reports is wonderful: prior to Lydia's claim to the bounty, the result of the lag unique only to Martin.mac.au and the suddenly appeared Lydia, SCAR dispatched the pathetic IGPK Lt.'s MGC rag no less than four times. Sadly, nobody cares enough about the actions of an IGPK to give any reward for offing them, even repeatedly.

PS. Hey Henry, guess what? No Prom!

[Personal Log : Henry Jekyll]

It seems that this Dr. Lecter character has his pride rather wounded, and is sounding a wee bit defensive. This is understandable, after all, our Lt. Lydia did claim the bounty over his head. We did have a nice celebration over that bounty claim, which was in the news all over the universe.

I wonder if that fact has made this Dr. Lecter decide to send more communiques directed at us. Though despite his posturing and belligerence, I find myself feeling strangely sympathetic to his plight. After all, it is not often to see one mistake the gender of a pilot. I have never had the honour of meeting this dastardly pirate named Martin.mac.au, but last I spoken to Lt Lydia, she is a woman.

[IGPK Update]

Rising tentions along the outermost Serco/Itani border have adversely affected trading corridors and mining sectors throughout Itani space as fighters and profiteers make their way from gray space to the outlying regions.

A small but harmful pocket of terrorists are also reportedly striking randomly, not in serch of profit or as extortion in exchange for protection, but rather simply for sport. Counsel will soon meet to discuss additions, if necessary to the Guild KOS.

Denic prices dropped precipitously while Heliocene remains at historic lows. Ore traders are urged to transport these plentiful stocks. A buy order for certain rare ores was announced by TGFT, indicating an effort by TGFT to stockpile. The precise nature and reason for this hoarding are being investigated.

With attentions temporarily diverted towards the Itani/Serco border, IGPK is organizing a prospecting effort targeting certain high probability sectors within grey space. Update on target date to be announced in game over the Guild channel with non-Guild members invited.

Job Posting. Mercenary defenders sought. Payment negotiable on a per mission basis or under a fixed term contract.

/me decides that, given the disparate impact of getting boomed with a bounty vs. getting your ass handed to you repeatedly w/o one, running like a little bitch when there's a bounty on my head is gonna be a new and uniformly utilized tactic.

PS. Except for when facing UPN: I promise to keep that /explode button armed and ready, just fer you.

PPS. IGPK "Serco" called Jeykll: next time we meet ingame, your mouthy self will be needing to accept the duel challenge.

Now not only do you have my tequila, but ya screwed up my border patrol mission! Serco filth! Come back to Deneb E-7 and I promise not to spamkill you anymore. I'll just do it with gauss. :)

One small correction to IGPK intelligence. Broma Transport is not set up to stockpile ores. It is designed to provide a secondary or spot market for ore. In theory, the existence of such a market should benefit both miners and ore haulers.

[Personal Log : Henry Jekyll]

I had a sleepless night. It seems like the tension between Serco and Itan has ominously risen in the past few weeks. The appearance of some small scale Capital ships skirmishes in grey space is one...I wonder if both warring parties are now staking claim in the lucrative traderoutes there.

In addition, the Border Wars in Deneb is also being pursued with renewed vigor. I was called in by the Serco SkyCommand to fight the other day. Thankfully I survived, though I could not but hide my own distaste for such mindless battles. Hopefully I will obtain a longer furlough this time to concentrate on some pressing guild business.

Which includes considering a duel challenge by this Dr. Lecter. I wonder if I should fight him. Certainly I would not give him battle for no reason, save to let him satisfy his rather obsessive need to demonstrate superiority. I for one does not care so much about that. Perhaps if he would agree that if he loses, he would stop harrassing IGPK, then I will agree on a duel. But as it is, I doubt he would agree to that. Then I would not see any good reason to give in to his obsession.

Some friendly advice from a fellow trader:

Even if you win a duel and get Lecter to agree not to attack IGPK, I doubt you could get him to keep his word for very long. Witness his recent broken truce with TGFT as detailed in Operation Toasted Marshmellow.
