Was it really? When was it? Because I started playing this game in 2013
Oct 18, 2015 yodaofborg link
I dunno, a while ago. But just so you know, I started playing this game in 2002, wally around 2006/7? So yes, stfu, newb.

Yoda, you do realize you both admitted to being an ass and quoted the golden rule in the same post? I'm glad you are getting entertainment out of this. I am as well, lol.
Oct 18, 2015 jordanmorgan14f link
Lol I don't give a shit when you started. I asked when because if you are whining about something that happened more than 2 years ago, you are a sad little man.

[TGFT]Sieger bought an alpha/beta account from an old vet. This has now been confirmed by the devs and alpha/beta badges have been removed from his account.

No, what I confirmed was that the GeoIP usage of the account we transferred the badges from actually matches up to Sieger's location, back in 2008 (one of the last logins before recently). He still has his badges, and we are not removing them.

(I am not going to be re-checking this thread for responses, just pointing this out).

thanks Incarnate... nice to have that put to rest.

Well, obviously Sieger just bought the house of the previous account holder to more easily avoid detection. :P

"Political negotiations are always done in private for good reason."

The reason being that politicians are shady motherfuckers.

The reason being that politicians are shady motherfuckers.

I would offer that politicians act shady whether or not negotiations are public. If negotiations are public, attempts to sway/manipulate popular opinion in one direction or another are more easily made, which can be just as detrimental to the process.

What Espionage is proposing is a theatrical event, not a diplomatic process.
Oct 19, 2015 TheRedSpy link
Nonsense, what I am proposing is a mature diplomatic discussion in a public forum. Delegates will be determined for each of the parties and any submissions by outsiders will be merely a comment and will be outside of the regular discussions.

We have nothing especially confidential to disclose.

Perhaps we could even enlist Phaserlight to moderate the thread and allow posting only by the delegates. People can comment in their own threads or an official comment thread if they wish, can't prevent that of course, but the negotiation would be very structured.

If the intent is to show TGFT's "good faith", then why is it not sufficient to show the entire discussion AFTER the agreements have been made? There is no necessity for the public to view this process. There is no necessity to provide opportunities for trolls like yoda, joyless and Bojan to shit all over everything that is said and take things out of context and continue this charade of lies and deception. That is foolish. But is it unexpected from someone who's two main characters are Espionage and TheRedSpy? No.

What exactly is the difference? People can still comment on what is said in the discussion either way. I'd be fine with showing the entire discussion after an agreement is finalized but honestly are you that worried about the so called trolls influencing the direction of the discussion? The TGFT leaders' will and minds must be so fragile and feeble.

Well the VO forum is neutral ground. Remember that. It's accessible for everybody easily so we can have more participants than usual and as joylessjoker said, what's the difference, we simply moderate the discussion correctly and give voice only to the delegates either by mod intervention or just with general maturity then why not.

I am suggesting that any guild have an opportunity to negotiate the terms of their station access rather than simply be subject to force on our whim.

No worries wally since you're obviously a representative of TGFT leadership, I'll get you and your TGFT buddies station access. I'll negotiate a multi-lateral treaty between RED, TGFT, ONE, FAMY and TRI. I have one condition; the negotiations take place publicly on THIS forum. What a great opportunity for TGFT to show how reasonable they are to the whole VO playerbase. You can get your station access back and redeem yourselves in the eyes of the whole verse.

Well TGFT, this is a perfect chance to show us your Machiavellian diplomacy at work. The stakes are very high and, if you play your cards right, you could turn the RED-ONE-FAMY-TRI axis into your allies against SKV. If I were in your shoes, I would not let this huge game changing opportunity pass by.

SKV position regarding war with TGFT and conquerable stations access remains unchanged.
There are no more offers for TGFT unconditional surrender on the table and every neutral party except TGFT have access to conq stations under SKV keychain.
If this negotiations actually happen and they give birth to some new allegiances and alliances, SKV will adapt to the new reality and react accordingly.

Speaking as council member of RED (I have no clue what Espy would do) we would certainly make TGFT neutral but not allies for they have gone too far previously.
Oct 19, 2015 joylessjoker link
I really really don't think they will seize this opportunity. The TGFT leadership is filled to the brim with stubborn, tunnel-visioned, and dimwitted senior citizens.

TGFT, please please do prove me wrong!

Yeah, general maturity, that'll work!

It's interesting to note how greenwall is the ONLY TGFT proponent to respond on this matter thus far. He's not even one of the lieutenants. On top of that his replies have been rather half assed and disappointing.

The TGFT guild may be still physically present on the guild board, but its soul has long withered and died. Nobody in it cares about anything anymore.
Oct 19, 2015 jordanmorgan14f link
Sadly that seems to be the case joker. I feel like the old TGFT would have gladly taken this opportunity at neatrality, especially in the middle of a losing war.
Oct 19, 2015 greenwall link
Not everybody reads the VO forums or wants to participate in the juvenile level of dialog that is often found here (/me looks at joyless). A non-response here should be no indication of whether or not a guild is interested in pursuing diplomatic discussion.
Oct 19, 2015 jordanmorgan14f link
I just dont get why you can't do diplomatic discussions on an open forum. I'm not choosing a side, but obviously Espionage doesn't trust TGFT. He might even be possibly doing it on an open forum expecting you to break your word, and prove how untrustworthy TGfT is in his eyes. I say prove him wrong, and the rest of the VO playerbase, in an open forum. Just my opinion greenwall.
