Increase group player limit

Having a group hierarchy is a good way to manage voice chat. Then you could have individual groups of 12 people each, or so, where you'd only have be able to voice chat with the other 11 players in the group. Then if two or more groups linked together, there could be some sort of super-group chat where members from different groups could chat, but there wouldn't be voice chat across the linked groups.

One way to handle it would be to take the leaders from each individual group and put them together in an upper-level group as well, then the leaders could coordinate actions between the groups, and it would be the leaders' responsibility to pass that information down to the members of the group they are leading.

A system like this would allow large groups of players to work together while splitting up into different roles. So you could have a group of bombers that would coordinate timing their bombing runs amongst themselves, and have it linked with a group of fighter escorts that would be coordinating targets to defend against.

"Thou shalt not auto-lock!" So spake Ganborro, and from the depths the thread did rise, its energies renewed for the coming six moons.

For an interesting method for arranging group chat for large military missions, read the book 'Ender's Game', the part in command school running the battle simulators. The movie does not do it the same way, basically the movie ignores this point that the author spent the time to work out (or steal). But I would not use head-positioning for triggering it like in the book. :)

Actually what you want is to have sub groups so that you have both the group as a whole - everyone is a white dot and one or more sub groups to handle the control structure and voice chat with perhaps a different user definable color on the radar availible such as light gray dots

Self named tabs should make it relatively easy to select/see which group your currently dealing with.
