You shot me without provocation in Edras. Then again when we jumped into Verasi. All for the crime of, apparently, traveling in the same direction.

I did not fire upon you. At all in Verasi.

I did, however, join ONE and EDIT in shooting at you in Nyrius because I felt slighted.

But, this is all beside the point. The point is, anyone can load turrets on a dent, moth, or even an atlas with admired characters (real or bot) and tank the status of those that dare kill the poor trader. If there are multiple turrets manned, then there is a good chance that you simply have one of them shoot first then, the other person who thinks they're "defending" himself, is tanked or killed.

Yes... i like this idea. I'm changing my vote: -1

-1 to the idea as suggested.

I propose a simpler approach. If a gunner in a Trident fires at someone without provocation in nation space, said gunner should be kicked from the Trident (and launched in his ship), so that the person attacked can have their revenge against him, not against the captain who didn't fire the shot.

I like Siegers idea the only issue I see is it would only apply to dents where the gunner actually docked. How would you handle other turreted ships or /gunner invites to a dent?

+1 OP.

This is the same as if you were in a fighter and accidentally shot me. If you don't like me having the right to kill you, don't accidentally shoot me. And if you don't want me having the right to kill your turret-bearing-vessel, don't let your turret operators accidentally shoot me. If your turret operators are too incompetent to not accidentally shoot me, that is your problem, not mine. Get higher quality minions.

That said, I do think the stand-your-ground system itself needs some tweaking to be less wanton. That would be a topic for another thread though.

When you hunt another it is a bug, when another hunts you it is a feature. Pay more attention to where you are, what you are doing and who else is involved. Poor sport sky, try harder next time.

Ironically TVNS and Mondie Fundie just pulled the same thing on me! Haha I was impressed and surprised! But this is an exploit and should be remedied.

+1... I'm revising my opinion on this based on discussion, but would like to see the following...

1) Pilot with gunner gets warning like "pilot A is allowed to defend himself against gunner B" then gunner and pilot can decide if he leaves or stays and if he leaves, the the ability to defend yourself follows the gunner.

2) I also think it's an exploit to chase and follow someones missiles and fly into it so you can "defend" yourself. That is offense, not defense. If you want to take a hit for your teammate, fine. But, only the person who's client is beeping should be able to take the hit and defend themselves. If you want to shoot something, shoot it. It's not that hard to fix standing. BUT, Rockets and energy fire aren't so clear cut so can't see that getting changed.

Even in real life, you fire something like missiles or rockets (or artillery, bullets, set land mines, etc) you have to be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Warheads, bullets, and land mines don't always affect only their intended targets in real life. Nor should they in the Vendetta Universe.

Deal with it, kid.

Christ Almighty, you can not be this much of a moron kenny!

1) You are basically asking for the mechanic to stand the way it is so you can shoot someone with one of your free accounts in a turret then kick them from the dent to protect it.

2) That is not an exploit. If you don't like it happening man the fuck up and stop using guided missiles.

-1 edit should man up. They use exploits all the time against new and intermediate players.

It's interesting when the people that exploit the flaws in the faction system the most (edit/famy) get an exploit used against them, how much they whine like little children about how it's just not fair.

I'll wait for a faction system overhaul, don't waste time with band-aids

So, Harpo, is it an exploit or isn't it?

And just be clear, what exploits has FAMY done that ITAN and TGFT have not?

May 29, 2016 The Voluptuous Night Sky link
Dearests Harpo,

EDIT not use exploits. We take stations, and simple ask proccesings fees for great palces we build. Tis liebal you write is not ok. Please rethink words of yours.
