Ok I know the devs wanted suggestions but here is my beef

You have made a number of threads on suggestions that have little idea and no explanation. The search feature has escaped you on many occasions as well.

Though I love reading suggestions I would suggest to you that suggestions you make be more then 1 line long. Contain a detailed idea of how you think your idea would work. Have positive and negitive reprocussions and reasons why. Tell why the current system does not work for you and how yours will ultimately make it better.

and don't bumb your own threads after 10 hours!

edit*and yes I intentionally put bumb!

there are smaller systems in the grsy areas of the map and in the UIT there are 5=7 different corporations to earn faction standing from.

What exactly is your suggestion? What would it look like and how would it function in the game?

I agree with Durgia. We all like newbie suggestions, but unless you put a little effort into them they just aren't helpful. It's best to collect all your thoughts in a single post. A fairly good example of a recent well done newbie suggestions post can be found here:

See how much better that is? About the only thing I can criticize is that its a little rude to demand to be paid attention to, but I've heard alot worse whines (and I'm sure it wasn't meant to be rude). Overall, a good first post.

Awaiting your thoughts.

Ok heres were i was trying to go (sorry if i offended anyone)
There are only three options of nations to start off with and only about 25 areas which isnt so rdiculus until you consider the fact that there arnt major diffrences between the colonized ones. Also for a galaxy evrything is to linear all the connecting solar sytems are owned by the same nation ect.

Any Response?

Well the Serco and Itani nations are self-explanitory, so let's just consider the UIT.

Have you noticed the factions within gray and UIT space? TGP, Axia, etc. Those are like "states" and UIT is the overall government (it's not that simple, I'm sure, but you get the idea). So don't try to make the claim that they are the same thing. That's like telling a Texan that they're basically the same thing as a New Yorker (no better/worse, just different). Sure if you start UIT, you still have to earn your faction standings, but you can choose any of these factions and "specialize" in it.

I think it's better to offer new people a 3-way choice of alignment at the very beginning, with further opportunity shift your allegiences with work.

And the universe map you see today isn't going to be the permanent map. They say there will be some exploration addition and the map could potentially become very huge.

For now, read the back story and accept the universe map as the Way Things Are™.

i think what Treesrule14 meant by a linear galaxy is that perhaps the map should be more 3d, like a real galaxy (and everything else in the game). i was thinking of something like the 3d holograph map of the new death star and endor in return of the jedi, except with star systems instead. that would be cool!

It would also be impossible to interact with. This map, as Waylon said, is a "representation of the weird geometry of wormholes" that is flat and easy to work with.

The current system is only the "base" or basic part of the universe. These are the core systems only. The explortation and other expantions will open up an endless universe.

The 2D map is much easier to understand then a 3D one would be. It does not mean at all that all the sectors are perfectly lined up in such a way. That is just how the wormholes happen to connect to them and others that exploreres have found.

"It would also be impossible to interact with"
i'm sorry but i don't understand this...wouldn't you interact with it the same way you interact with everything else in the game? (ie: keyboard and mouse)

"The 2D map is much easier to understand then a 3D one would be."
i disagree. space is 3d, why would we interact with it in 3d on a small scale and not on a larger one? also, by that logic, why have a 3d game at all? i remember people said the same thing when 3d games started showing up and everyone was used to 2d side-scrollers. to me, it just makes sense to have it 3d, since we are simulating some future reality anyway...

anyways, not to piss anybody off, these are just my ideas and vendetta is very cool. i just signed up for a subscription a few days ago
