Comrades,

For years we fought together, and against one another. It's been a blast. I can truly say that I've made "friends". But sadly, it's all about to end. With the full version, and me having no cash, this is a final farewell. I'm truly going to miss all of you, and Devs; You guys have truly come a long way, and Vendetta is going to be one of the best...if not _the_ best. Thank you.

Cheers.

::cries::

PS. I was wondering if the Devs could make a forum just for the current players...one with a password so only we could access it. Or if one of you über IRC people could make another "secret" chatroom. It'd be great If I could stay in touch with you people :/

using an irc client like x-chat:

...or were you referring to something different?

I think I'm going to be on the same boat as HyperSpaz, at least for some time. I think I probably will play the game sometime post-release, but in the near future, I just don't see myself playing games much. What with band and all... anyways, that's my 2 cents worth on this topic, so cya people for the next month.

I hate to say it but I too probably will be joining danielky and HyperSpaz for several reasons:

1. I'm still finishing up my last year of college.

2. I have $0 spending dollars left, considering I did pro bono freelance work over the summer.

3. The new universe has jeapordized PvP combat, making the game boring.

4. Some other things which I can't think of right now but I had in my head before.

Maybe someday when Vendetta becomes more "complete" with the frigate ships, mineral mining, more missions, new ship models, new ships, etc. and I've got some money to spend I'll start playing again. But it doesn't look promising right now.

I haven't been playing anyway, but I doubt I'll pay for a subscription. While the past two years have been a blast, Vendetta isn't really my kind of game anymore. I preferred the style of play back in 3.1, and now I'm devoting all my gaming time to FF XI, anyway. Still, good luck! ^_^

I'll be paying, though I basically agree with most of Arolte's post. I feel guilty having enjoyed the game for so long without paying to abandon the devs now. It's still fun in small doses, and if I can get a few of my friends hooked on it...

I don't really play computer games much anymore, but I check this page every day and log in for a bit every now and again to see what's up. I'm hoping that the infusion of new people will make things more interesting than the current semi-emptiness.

I'm going to pay and I'm going to play.

I'm quite positive that the devs will put things into order such that PvP is not only enjoyable, but on a grander scale than we've ever before experienced. Hang in there, Folks.

Hm. Interesting posts.

For the most part, I have IRC, I was referring to a step-by-step on how to get to the chatroom, hell, I had trouble originally getting to the current one ( \(^o^)/ ). So if someone could supply directions I'd be really appreciative! 'specially if it was one of you lady players ^.<

Cheers.

PS. I hereby declare this post a "Fond Memories" and "Other" post. Anything you'd like to say about the last couple of years, post here!

Hmmm.... [off topic] or [roll-playing]? Cast your vote now.

ot

I'm not a "lady player", so if you're not willing to accept my help, maybe we can get Aeternalis to copy-and-paste my post ;)

1) you start up the irc client

2) you enter this line:

/server irc.slashnet.org

3) you enter this line:

/join #vendetta

assuming you have a registered Nickname, you should be well in the official Vendetta Online chatroom now.

/ot

Sadly enough, i have to join the ranks of HyperSpaz and Arolte, having no money whatsoever to spend on VO (the very last batch I had to use for an iPod).
Plus, like Arolte, I'm still in college, so there's no time i could reasonably allocate except for weekends, and that just doesn't cut it (playing on weekends during my time in the SAF showed me how much that sucks).

I also will be paying, i dunno how long i have been in vendetta, but i remember capping, being a red, running like hell from certain players, popping a few shots of at others, i remember all the stations looking pretty much the same, and station nuking... I also remember the UFO and how the devs used to lurve showing off new stuff and ideas.... vendetta IS a great game, test or not.... thanks for the past 2 years *V* team - expect to see me in the retail version Soon™ I just hope you consider other pay options than credit card (IE, paypal, western union, international postal order... and the likes) as otherwise i may be joining later rather than Sooner™....lol

I'll be paying and want to echo all of yoda's points. It was/is a great process the devs have set up and there is no doubt in my mind that things will be added on a regular basis to keep everything fresh and challenging.

I'll miss those that will not be able to play for monitary reasons... especially Arolte. He has been a riot to play with and I hope he finds the time to hop on IRC in-game and pay us a verbal visit from time to time.

As for those that feel they have grown out of the experience and that the best times are behind us, I implore you to try back later and check things out. Your cup of tea may be waiting for you.

I fully intend to be both paying and playing, (life permitting the playing part, work sucks)

I've been a huge fan of space games since i played Elite back on my Commodore64, i think i was about 10. :P
Vendetta comes the closest to that experience i have found in any multiplayer game since, and the potential is here for a superior game to emerge.

I think PVP will be repaired, and i have faith that those of us who prefer a less combat oriented game will also have plenty to do.

I will be paying for VO, but prolly a few months after the release, basically because of all the coursework and crap i'll have to do for school, so I wouldn't be on much... BUT i WILL be back!

hmmmm it would seem that most of the current players are either:-
A) at college and skint
B) not enamoured by the current version
or
C) going to be very infrequent players

This meen me being old wont matter anymore cos nearly everyone else will be n00bs. Mwuahahahahahahaha

Watch me get slaughtered by some 6 yo on daddys comp :\

Sadly I'm a penniless college student as well. I might check back on once in a while if the devs let us keep our accounts (to login) just to see how it's moving. I don't expect to play though. Not half as much time as I had last semester and the bigger universe is indeed much harder to get used to with so little people initially flying around and so little to do besides missions. Even though I hated pirates like Arolte I have to give them a certain amount of credit-i.e. they had me cussing and yelling obscenities every time my trading route got displaced or blocked. The challenge of evading them and still making tons of money so I could buy ships and practice dueling them kept my interest for a long time.

Since they're no longer near enough to my homebase and I don't really have to worry about them at all I can say it's a lot less interesting flying around in a universe with over 7 thousand sectors and there's only 7 or 8 pilots on to fill any one of them.

many thanks to the devs for doing a great job on the programming to make it run smoothly.
