I have friends on both sides of the "conflict" (notice the quotes) and would definitely LOVE to see them bash each others' brains over a centuries-old incident. We UIT encourage the War 100%, and hope you will continue buying our Xirite armor plating for all your War Needs!

The Serco die, the Itani die, and the UIT prosper! EVERYBODY WINS!!!!

P.S. Just like with CTC, I will meddle in this war when I want to, and change sides as often as I choose to do so, regardless of anyone's feelings about that. Just so you know.

"The Serco seek to avenge the sins of the past, the Itani at first new contact wanted peace, and many still do want it, but the Serco would not forgive the old atrocities. They invaded. As a result, the Itani nation moved to defend itself. Whether you people like it or not, if you are Serco or Itani you are at war. You have two options, get in the fight or get out of the way. Indeed this thread is somewhat redundant in declaring the war itself. The war was already here."

Sure, if you take undoubtedly biased Itani articles as the complete truth. We did not invade because of "old" atrocities. Do you truly think they ever ended?
Aug 25, 2005 Ghost link
Yes... the atrocities ended when the Serco kicked the Itani off the planet and their genocidal leader was overthrown. Then neither race had contact with the other for a great period of tine. This would be the end of the atrocities. I'm not going to argue politics with you, it's right in the backstory. Itani biased or not, the fact is the Itani were exiled from the Serco home for many years and the old atrocities were no more. It's hard to keep up atrocities when both nations have not seen eachother for years upon years. The sins of the Itani had ceased, their genocidal leader was no more and was actually overthrown by the Itani people themselves, not the Serco. However, the Serco prejudice remained through all those years and peace could not be reached at new contact.

We shoulda popped your wittle "escape craft" when we had the chance.

""Borb: I admit itani might have acted wrongly 1st but u kept it going.""

It appears that all the mindnumbing meditation has finally turned off the brain of at least one itani. No thinking individual could use a statement so moronic to justify KEEPING a war going.

As for atrocities Ghost, it was itani SPIES that were attempting to overthrow the triumvirate that began the new round of hostility. If your SPIES hadn't been in our system probing for non-existant weaknesses we would not have been forced to detain them.

Our retaliatory raid had been accomplished and our reply to such infamy completed. As far as we were concerned the matter was settled except for the trial of your spies.

You Itani then re-kindled the war by unleashing YOUR neuclear arsenal on our CIVILLIAN space station and surface populations to restart the conflict after you staged a jailbreak instead of allowing your spies to be brought to trial for thier warmongering actions.

So yes, Ghost; by any definition you care to apply the itani WERE continuing the atrocities even after such a long break in the hostilities.

@Spell.

The group of Itani who liberated our non-hostile observers (not spies =P), did so of their own accord. They were a rogue faction of the Itani bent on genocide. They attacked your station against the will of many of the Itani people. This rogue faction is a problem within the Itani people and will be dealt with. Skygge Vakter, as well as the Itani nation, does not approve of the methods of the Order of Akan and holds no affiliation with them. They lost themselves when they decided to follow the ways of an old genocidal leader and repeat past mistakes.

However, do not forget that it was the Serco who provoked this attack. Peace negotiations were attempted, at which time the Serco decided to fire upon an unarmed Itani diplomatic ship. They destroyed the peaceful vessel and fled back to Serco space. This was what instigated the Order of Akan to retaliate.

Unfortunatly the Serco Dominion has not been able to see the Order of Akan as a splinter group of the Itani nation. They only see the whole. Thus, in retaliating to the Serco attacks, the Order of Akan has thrust war upon all Itani.

The only thing the Serco seem to understand is war. They destroy peaceful negotiation vessels. Now negotiations are over, war is here.

I cannot speak for the Itani nation as a whole, I am only a warrior of Itan. But if I were able to separate the connection between the peaceful Itani people and the Order of Akan, I would. Perhaps then peace between the Itani and Serco people could be resumed. Unfortunatly I cannot do this, nor do I believe the Serco would accept peace.

And so we fight.

You know, being a turncoat should I be worried? I mean, I know the Serco will try and kill me but am I REALLY safe from the Itani?

Ghost: your attempts to conceal the truth behind your lies of "peaceful observers" and "rogue factions" fool no-one. It is quite obvious that you claimed peaceful intent once your treachary had been discoverd to hide the fact that your leaders secretly funded the attacks on our homes.

If your observers were indeed "peaceful" as you claim then what reason would they have for hiding thier presence. Your spies -and that IS what they were no matter how your government now try's to deny it- were caught in an act of espionage against the people of Sol II.

Upon discovery of this provocation our government deliberated about an appropriate response, eventually deciding that the spies in question would be tried for thier crimes, and a retaliatiory strike of some sort was in order; mostly to ensure that you Itani knew we wouldnt sit idly by and allow you to repeat your actions of years past. Many of our younger leaders wanted to launch an all out attack on you to teach you a lesson but they were overruled by older and wiser men.

We limited ourselves to a simple warning raid in response, A raid that was provoked by the actions of your spies. It's original objective was to detonate a small warhead in orbit, safely above the atmosphere and well away from any inhabited stations in order to make you aware that your actions had concequences. Your so called "diplomatic" ship attempted to prevent our pilots from completing thier mission, and the on-scene commander was forced to destroy it by the actions of its crew in obstructing his mission.

Deciding that its destruction was sufficient warning and no more action was neccesary he returned home spareing the thoulsands of people aboard the motley mess of unarmed ships that came to see what was happening. He acted out of honor, knowing in his heart that the misguided pilots of those ships would attempt to interfere, and in doing so bring about thier own destruction.

No more would have come of it, we wished to live quietly within our homes safe from the trechery the Itani had visited on us in times long past. We posted a few ships to keep an eye on the enterance you had used to sneak your spies into our skies, and then attempted to return to our peaceful lives.

Knowing that eventually your SPIES would have told us the truth about its plans for conquest, your government dispatched it's murderous secret police to "rescue" them from a perfectly legal imprisonment in which they were being treated humanely and fairly. To cover up your actions and in a misguided attempt to destroy the evidence we had collected against your agents your government calmly ordered the mass murder of over 10,000 serco citizens; an order your pilots cold-bloodedly carried out.

No matter what spin your pathetic "monks of Itan" attempt to put on the events, nor how desperately you cling to the fiction that the "order of akan" is anything other than your govermnents' secret forces, the serco dominion knows the truth, and we WILL defend ourselves accordingly.

Sadly the total control of information which your own itani government enforces has probably blinded you to these facts, allowing you to believe the propoganda and half-truths they tell you.

Spellcast: Your naivety in this matter saddens me. It is due to this ignorance that you have demonstrated in your above post that our two nations must battle. It is statements like these that inspired me to leave behind the peaceful nature of my people and join task force Skygge Vakter. I hope when this is all over the two of us are still around to debate this matter. Until then, I will see you on the battlefield.

My blood for Itan.

Lieutenant Ghost, Task force SKV

(OOC@Spell: hehe! I know! Finally stirring some stuff up! Most fun I've had on this game in a while. Keep it up! =))

You are more than welcome to give your blood to a false cause ghost, in time when the truth is known and honor has released you from the deceit of your government, I will buy you a drink.

Meanwhile YOU at least act honorably, just because your conclusions are drawn on false information does not make your choices less honorable. I find it sad that you are so truly caught up in the lies of your government, tho in truth I understand it as they are masters at twisting what is real, and probably believe thier own version of what truly happened by now.

It is ironic that you accuse me of being naieve and acting from ingnorance when it is really the opposite. Meanwhile I ask a simple question of you,
- how did your government supposedly "miss" a group such as the order of akan living in its very midst for so many years?

Look for the true answer, for the truth shall reveal all.
