Hehe. Is Jestatis still hung over from his drunken rantings?
(See Jestatis, THIS is how you start! It all begins will an innocent drink...)

Yeah then a few roid rammers later you'll be a pirate, then a member of Akan, then you just start to hate life so you blow your self up.

Ban teh drinks!!!

The Order of Akan took it upon themselves to withdraw from the council of Eo. Space is a big place and the council made no attempt to find them. This was an admitted mistake for obvious reasons. Measures are now being taken to find the order of Akan, however, our efforts are limited due to the resources needed to defend ourselves from Serco attacks.

And what of the BUG threat? Do we ignore the very bots that plague us and seek to change our way of life? We must band together to stamp out the metal beasts that come for us with no soul to guide them. Lay down our misgivings and band to chase the evil scurge from ALL of our worlds.

Maybe the UIT should kill them, as it seems they don't really pester the Serco and Itani any way.

Off-topic: Sorry to start trouble and run I had to take an emergency trip for work. I’m back now and ready to start more trouble :)

On topic:

First I would like to thank Ghost. Even though he might not agree he does know we are already at war with the Serco and it has been that way for a while. I just have two questions one for my “fellow” Itani and one for the Serco.

To my Itani Brothers:

Are you with the war or not. Not everyone has to answer but I think Guild Commanders should speak for their guild and tell us whose side they are on so we can take appropriate action when we see them.

To the Serco Nation:

I will ask you again: Do you want peace? The universe (the game) won’t really allow for peace but we can maybe form a truce. I can’t speak for the entire Itani nation but I can say that most of us would welcome a peace arrangement. I think the only terms should be that we treat each other by our individual actions and not by our respective races.

There comes a time in everyone’s life when he or she can make a difference. If sounding like a psychopath helps both our people I will gladly do it again. (But it won’t work again :) At the very least I've opened communication between our two races. And That is a start.

As always the decision is yours… Both sides please decide wisely, for yourselves and for our future. And again thank you all for considering the possibilities.
Aug 26, 2005 JestatisBess link
To the UIT:
If the Itani and Serco do choose peace can we meet in a neutral sector in your space to finalize the arrangements? You of course are not in this war really and I know war or peace is good for business for the UIT. But the continuing conflict between the Serco and Itani will eventually spill over to include the UIT.

I believe IDF's commander was pretty clear on the subject.

As newly-appointed Lieutenant and, more so given my position on the Council, I stand by the Itani Defense Force's Commander and IDF principles and rules of engagements.

Now, precisely on that matter, we are a defense force bound to protect any Itanis in need of help. And yes, this could include Itani pirates or other guild members, for as long as they are recognized as non Itani agressors.

As far as UIT is concerned, our position still hasn't changed. They are allies or foes, mostly on a per-pilot basis. But generally allies. Some UIT guilds are also recognized as allies. Exact details on those alliances are privy to the IDF and the concerned guilds.

As far as Sercos are concerned, they remain our enemy. Even if we dont, as a group, immediately engage in open space, they remain watched. Any Serco entering Itani space will be fired upon unless clear intentions and righteous business needs are brought forward. Few Sercos are Itani-admired, but we will respect those few provided they do not interfere with the business and affairs of other itanis or allied UITs.

This said, it's important to understand that any IDF pilot, regardless of rank, can, on his own recognizance, engage Sercos for reasons that need not be sanctioned or explained to IDF Lieutenants or it's Commander, provided this was in response to a direct threat or agression or in response to the threat or agression made upon another Itani or even UIT ally.

As Council and Lieutenant or IDF, I remain available to *anyone*, Itanis, UITs and Sercos included, as arbitrator in any dispute or grieving brought upon them by any IDF Pilot or Council. I am not available to dispute any claim against any Lieutenant or the Commander as I dont claim any more administrative powers than my peers or Commander. However, I can bring any issue forward at an upcoming meeting or to the Commander shall the situation needs immediate attention.

I'd like to know how you will punish me, Jestatis & Ghost, when I don't participate in your "war." Will you nerf your itani standing in order to attack me? Or will you consort with our enemy by hiring some UIT or Serco bounty hunters to chase me around?

Nothing is more comical than a bunch of rules without any possibility of enforcement.

Oh, I'm not against 'sploding Serco when I see them, but to do nothing BUT that? Hrm.

That's how we'll beat the Itani! We'll bore them to death! Muahaha...

I never threatened to punish everyone Lebermac. I just stated that war is upon the Itani nation whether it wants one or not.

(OOC: Comeooooon!!! This game would be boring as hell if there was peace!!)

Wait! Now I see their strategy! They were going to rely on my natural attention deficit disorder to manifest itself, and then strike when I was relaxing in front of the holo-vid enjoying a bottle of tequila and a plate 'o tamales.

Ghost is right! Peace is boring! Let's FIGHT!

Bring it on!

I await the responce from the Serco nation. I'm sure it will be good.

Peace might me boring but the Order of Eo has always wanted peace. If we can have peace i for one am all for it. It if must be war then war it is.

Congrats on your promotion Mogul Velaio. No one deserves it more. And I belive as always the IDF will do the right thing and help all Itani in neeed during these trying times.

Now I don't have a lot to say in our dominion, I'm just a soldier, but, when they send me in, I will be more than happy to collect more tani blood to paint my ships!

Hmm. As head of the Medical Robotics Advancement Research Department of the First University Of Sol II, I am not sure whether a new war will provide boni or mali for us scientists. Sure, in the short-sighted vision of warmongers, it will grant us research funds, but it is not so in the long run.

For quite some time now, we have been studying the different lifeforms and their specific traits, including the Hive, what little we could. Unfortunately, I am not currently disposed to disclose any research material, theories or conclusions at all, but I call out to my Serco brothers and sisters: Do not engage in folly large-scale conflict. Engage Itani war-mongers at will, for they are truly an enemy. Perhaps there would need to be an understanding between the two governments, or even a trilateral code of conduct.

However, I ask you to abstain from attacking ships that conclusively identify themselves as members of the Pangalactic Research Trust. You will know when you meet them. Now I know, it's hard to decide on the fields of battle. I have been there, I have seen the action.

So if you'd at least report killing such vessels, by bringing along their in-flight recording equipment, regardless of sustained damage to memory units, we'd be immensely grateful (you will get a voucher for a free meal in the University's mess hall).

To the Itani war-mongers, I say: Back to the confines whence you came! We have no need of your squandering of resources, better fit for furthering the combined science effort. If you want to kill Serco, we can grow substitute near-life dolls, to appease your senseless bloodlust. Whether that is ethical or not, is besides the point.

War must not be fought in our space. We have more important things to do.

ooc:

Now, I am not at all opposed to all-out PvP... but war? No way.

I will assist the Itani against the evil Serco. I may not have a powerful ship, but a single fighter can tip the scale.

The Serco will pay for the atrocities committed in recent history!

Roleplay aside, from what I've heard and read, the Serco culture is driven by a military. And the military is built for war. Without ar and battles, there is no need for the military. Thus a culture driven by this mentatlity thrives on battle, war and honor. There will be no end to this war.

Getting back into character, the Serco are nothing but war mongering savages. They have too many chips stuck up their noses. Children are tought to bully and fight each other, like a bunch of apes. The only way to end this is to either: A. Eliminate the current culture, government and lifestyle of the serco. or B. Eliminate the serco. Akan was right! Akan forever!

moldyman:
Spoken like a true war-mongerer. Is it so hard to believe that there are people in the Serco Dominion who strive for a different way of life than the one you depicted?
That there are people in both the Itani and Neutral population that could be considered uncivilised and belligerent?
You use the cheapest weapon of the common populist: Generalisation. I ask you to abstain from doing that, for it is not the base for a constructive discussion.

I said so before, and I will say so again: People and organizations who further war are not deemed helpful to the Pangalactic Research Trust and will be excluded from council meetings (which means you will also be excluded from any profits you might have gained otherwise).

On a sidenote, as flawed and corrupted though it may be, at least *our* government does not have the indecency of harboring a terrorist organization (Order of Akan).
It strikes me as odd that there has been a complete absence of action taken against the group (Telling us that they are not being able to locate them could very well be a euphemism for "We won't tell you."), given the self-proclaimed peace-loving nature of the Itani. If actions have been taken, why don't we see proof? Clearly, it would be in both our peoples' interests if the facts could be discussed openly.

From the year 2672 to the year 3827 the Serco Dominion prospered with out war of any kind. All this peace was shattered when Itani spys where found trying to undermine our great nation.

Once again our peaceful nation of gentle warriors was forced to defend it's self from the aggressive and unpacifyable Itani hordes.

Our nation was content with a peaceful existence on Serco Prime, we never made an attempt to hunt down and kill the remaining Itani, we even hid the fact that the Itani still lived so our future generations would not have to look over their shoulders wondering if one day the Itani war-mongers would come back.

Sadly all our hopes for peace where in vain. So as we have been forced to do for so long with the Itani we stand up in the defense of our peaceful home lands.
