INV Neutrality

INV leadership should go look at the Deneb stats.

Then I'd like to know your guild policy.
Jun 01, 2015 JHX link
Obviously I do not represent INv, but I understand their policies to mean that their guild as a WHOLE will not take part in factional conflicts, i.e placing a KOS on any Itani player etc. However, giving members the freedom to fight for a side does not count as breaking the guild's neutrality.

et tu - INV? just 2 days ago [IGVT]shar0baro was seen fighting for Itani at Deneb.

funny - these new traders aint so neutral as they say they are.

MrAbsurd, try reading what I said first, then try to make a more relevant comment.
Jun 01, 2015 csgno1 link
If you are correct JHX, then they won't mind KOS designations for individuals within their guild. That would work for me.

I see where you are coming from now csgno1, that is a tricky situation

IGVT does not have any rules regarding participating in Deneb or other nation-specific things. We will discuss internally any get back to you.

keeping track of who in what ???neutral??? guild is really neutral will get to be a pain. TGFT tried it with SKV. Just KOS all new not really neutral guilds. :)

more shady horsecockery. Get rid of nations and we won't have these neutrality threads and pirates, traders, guilds/clans, can thrive with less bullshit politicking. Keeping 3 nations balanced is a huge time suck for GS. These threads are just noise much like 100.
Jun 03, 2015 Pizzasgood link
Ore, the concept of neutrality is not at all dependent on the three nations. Get rid of those, and you'll still have player factions that want to be neutral with everybody, even the ones that are at war with each other. These kinds of threads would not go away.

Just KOS all new not really neutral guilds

There are also old 'not really neutral guilds', like TGFT.
Jun 06, 2015 csgno1 link
I guess the distinction is that an old 'not really neutral' guild like TGFT has some players who really are neutral and want to be left alone, so instead of making an entire guild like that KOS, it should be limited to just the non-neutral players like biretak for example. If I had trouble with an individual in a guild, say for example biretak in TGFT, I don't think I'd threaten the entirety of TGFT with KOS status, I think I'd just threaten biretak. In this hypothetical case, I think if I immediately had contacted the officers of TGFT and demanded that biretak be expelled from the guild or face the wrath of my guild, they would not immediately fold to my demand. Like them or not, they display loyalty to their membership, as a guild should, and would probably assure me that they would look into the matter.

@csgno1

I see what you are doing, thank you, but it's time to move on.
Jun 06, 2015 Pizzasgood link
@csgno1: You mean like with SKV vs. Sieger? This seems like a strategy that will totally work!

@pizzasgood it's the hypocracy that's damaging. You got Harpo here calling out guilds for not being neutral yet he's been flying with TGFT for the last 3 years. So to call Harpo a nationalist is as ridiculous as it is to call Kenny a trader. Neutrality doesn't work and neither do nations for as long as alts will exist.

Let me ask you this: would you rather GS focused on nationalist differences, economy, or exclusivity among roles in the game (trader, miner, pirate etc.). I can safely say that GS doesn't have the resources to do all of these AND integrate the differences among the nations.

Neutral guilds wouldn't look quite as stupid in a game without nations.

Most people should have the sense to ignore guilds who claim neutrality. Its only in the eyes of everyone else that someone can be neutral and no guilds have successfully achieved that claim except maybe ORE who only managed so because CD was notoriously intolerant of breaches of neutrality and made sure everyone knew it.

TGFT claim it because it fools some people into siding with them and its not very hard to do. They've never ever given it a serious go. If a guild is serious and I mean really serious about neutrality they'd need to maintain neutral standing with serco and itani across all members and have a mantra of strict noninterference.

Let's face it, that's boring.

good lord, you guys are like a dog with some cat poop, you just wont let it go. every single thread turns into a TGFT bash party. we should rename every thread here "TGFT and why we don't like them" cause thats what they all turn in to.

The standings mechanic does not have to be the end all of role play. I always found the narrow minds here amusing. It's just a number generated by an algorithm that determines what kind of equipment you can buy and at the extreme end of getting kos, whether they shoot at you. Of course, this narrow interpretation gives players more targets which is what many players prefer over letting other players determine their rp.
