So... we really do need better descriptions for the three races. So, here's the contest.

We write a description for one or more of the races. Try to keep it descriptive and accurate, told from the prospective of a member of the race. Then, we all vote on the best. Then maybe... just maybe, the Devs will replace the descriptions we currently have at character selection.

Here is what the current descriptions are:

Overview
Here you can select the Nation to which your character will belong. There are three major nations, shown at left. You can click on each nation to see more information about their history and culture. The nation you select has impact on what sort of gameplay options will initially be available.

For instance, the Serco are the most warlike, and are at war with the Itani, and each have unique technology. The UIT are neutral in the conflict and are welcome in both Serco and Itani space. The UIT are the best traders, but cannot join the Serco or Itani militaries. They can choose a side and take part in the conflict (which can negate their neutrality), but they cannot hold command positions on either side.

Selection of a nation does not necessarily determine what your character can and cannot do, but it does impact what's "easier" to do.

Itani
The Itani are an advanced people, having the longest history of space travel among the three races. Their civilization, living in isolation and peace for a thousand years, has made great developments in science, the arts, and spiritual, mental, and martial powers. However, a darkness lingers in their past. The Serco, once fellow colonists on Terra II, suffered countless atrocities commanded by the purist Itani leaders. The climactic battle of this war drove the Itani people near to extinction, and they fled the planet in search of a new life. Though the culture as a whole has moved beyond their bloody past, the Serco seem committed to reviving old hatreds, and the Itani have had no choice but to fight back.

Serco
The Serco Dominion is a proud nation, valuing personal strength and honor in combat above all else. They were once a peaceful people, scientists and thinkers whose advanced research methods proved crucial for the Exiles' survival. However, philosophical and cultural differences with the other Terra II colonists quickly began to alienate the Serco people, eventually leading to all-out war. Their enemies, the Itani, were driven off the planet, and Serco military leaders instated a provisional government to protect its people against any future attacks. This government, and the culture of war it fostered, have persisted for over a thousand years, leaving the Serco with the largest military in known space.

UIT
The Union of Independent Territories is a loosely knit union of corporations, merchants and explorers clinging to life in deep space. They are widely revered as innovators, as life without a homeworld has called for truly unique advances in space station and ship construction technology. However, this societal structure has also made UIT space a haven for pirates, unscrupulous merchants, and the results of autonomous technological experiments gone awry. Like the Itani, the UIT has occasionally fallen under the ill graces of the Serco. However, many UIT merchants have highly advantageous trade agreements with the Serco government, so past affronts are often overlooked.

Hmmmm... in my opinion, we should have 3 descripions for each "race".

At first, just the (overview) should be displayed. with the buttons for each race.

When you click in one race, you see their own depiction of themselves, amd how them describe each other race.

So, the original text fits for UIT. But with a reinforced tone against the war.
New one for Serco would have a proud tone about Serco, be polite about UIT and offensive to Smurfs, considering them traitors who started the war and refuse the peace.
While the texts displayed when clicking on Itani should be peacefull, evoking the peace of Eo, describe UIT as peacefull traders and Serco as warmongering, treacherous villains who shot first and keep attacking without cause

Since when is the UIT against the war? It's widely established that they make loads of credits from it.

I would suggest brushing up on backstory a little more. The challenge isn't to change the existing faction relations acknowledged in the current descriptions.

The UIT love the war... its well established that they get fat military contracts from both the Serco and the Itani.

PLEASE, to anyone doing up a new race description... read the current race descriptions. Reading the back story would also help.
