I want to think about my list carefully, so I will hold off on posting my own for now.
<Incarnate>If you really want to make sure to draw attention to your concerns, maybe make a top-10 list of the 10 things you most-wish were fixed in VO? That's useful. Other people could weigh in with their lists. We've done those kinds of threads in the past, but a current version would still be interesting. And leave the angst out of it.

Like the "most useful plugins" thread we did, this is way more useful if there isn't a lot of debate, and instead people just link to the specific things they consider most important (top-10), ranked with 1 as the most important of all.
So, keep the chatter and judgement and disagreement off this thread, just stick to the top-10 per person.

(NOTE: These can be bug fixes or improvements/features, they're just changes of any kind).
Its going to take me a while to fully compile my list. So I will start, and slowly add to it in this post.
1. Player Capital Turrets are not destructible while the ship is piloted. Make them destructible while the shields are down, and keep them destroyed until the capship redocks. Even if the pilot undocks and redocks.
2. Combat focused capship that is player owned such as a terradon or the suggested Badger Capship. The goliath is listed a light freighter, and should treated as such.
3. Stygian Furies need more commands. They are a manufactured item, and it seems like an attack command would make sense.
4. Extra Capship Commands The follow and park commands actually made the capital ships so much more useful. It stands to reason that we can tell the ship to do other things as well. Such as turboing or even dumb firing a turret or LP.
5. Drain Mines need to be changed from their current one shot attack to a zapper style attack. In their current form, they are close to useless. With a zapper attack they could be used with greater effectiveness.
6. Guided Avalon torpedoes This has not been suggested too often, but giving Avalon's the ability to make small course corrections, like what was suggested in Lisa50469's Avalon Changes, would be an interesting idea. This would allow for accounting for the minor drift of targets.
7. Make solid explosives...explosive Items such as solid explosives and avalons should go up with the full force of their explosive power if the ship carrying them explodes. Weapons should be able to be optionally safed so this does not happen, but solid explosives should be a risky item to haul. And killing a ship from close range that is carry said items should be risky for the attacker.
8. Mega Variants of SP weapons There was as suggestion for a mega neutron, but I can't find it. So i'll link to a mega phase blaster instead. I think there should mega variants of most the small port weapons. Neuts, blasters, rails, and of course the posi which we already have.
9. Link turbo thrust/speed to armor percent Savet suggested in his Savet's Combat Fix thread to cut turbo thrust to 50% once armor had gotten to 50%. I think the idea has some merit. I like the idea of ship systems getting damaged and ceasing to work as well the more damaged a ship becomes.
10. Make Nationalism Profitable Members of nation militarys should get bonus credits for entering enemy territory and getting kills there. This of course could be abused, but there are ways to mitigate the issues. Such as only rewarding those who are hate/kos with the enemy.

1. Either Player owned Terradon ( as the graphic asset already exists and looks pimp) or Badger Corvette. The Terradon should get a speed/acceleration tweak depending on wether the next 2 items get implemented or not. I personally would prefer the Terradon as that is the whole reason I started playing the game.

I'm of two minds here, of what I think the game really needs, and what my heart really wants:
1. UI Overhaul
The Station UI is ugly and counter-intuitive to navigate; it's also the very first thing a new player sees, which does not do good things for first impressions. Fixing this would be a massive undertaking, but I really feel that this needs to be addressed sooner rather than later, as every new platform that VO is ported to increases the complexity of the task.
2. Lore Update
At times, VO's fluff seems half-finished; descriptions for weapons, ships, and even factions are frequently bare-bones or entirely nonexistent. Write up new fluff descriptions for every widget, outfit, weapon, ship variant, hive bot, space station, celestial object, system, and faction. Give the VO universe that essential lived-in quality by alluding to historical events glossed over or ignored by the colossal Backstory. Then do a '15 year update' for the Backstory itself to give the illusion of story progression.
A lot of the essential gruntwork could probably be farmed out to the Player Contribution Corps, assuming a modest amount of supervision, but if I'm being honest it'd still be a lot of effort for no guaranteed benefit. Even so, I'm hopeful that such an initiative could give VO's roleplaying community a much-needed shot in the arm (and when most of your endgame content is player-driven, this is an important consideration).

9. Support for the HTC Vive. Bonus points if you get it working on Linux too, but I realize the Vive's support for Linux is still experimental.
10. Replace jumping between sectors with something more interactive and less discontinuous, like Vega Strike's SPEC Drive or Elite: Dangerous's Super-Cruise.

1) Give us a big capship like capella or anything which require 2-3 x Dent kits , so i can haul and deshield levis solo .

6) Add better means of interdicting ships that doesn't requires a consistent well aimed stream of shots. Anything better than the PCB.
7) Add a high rate of fire capital ship weapon capable of bringing down an enemy capital ships shield, this will stop capship combat from being >stack>run>stack>run>stack>run>stack>run.

Given the recent suggestions by Incarnate regarding new potential Torpedo variants, this kind of ship is even more relevant to gameplay.
1. Greenwalls "Arena" suggestion, but not so much a Quake style arena, more like a "Deneb/Nation War Redux". For example you could implement a Nation War type event in-game, with various rewards or perks, or if an arena is implemented you could use that opportunity to implement guild wars and rewards. i.e. ONE declares war on ITAN (maybe from an added in game declare war function?), the war takes place in a specific sector, and any kills in that sector are logged for each guild, maybe fighters=1 point, Dents=5 points, Golis=10 points, as a cautionary device for using capships as R/R points. The declared "War" could last 5 days or a week, and whoever has the most points is declared winner. They could receive a special reward or credits, or if that could be too easily abused, could just be logged on their guild page for bragging rights, or used in a guild ranking system.
2. Deneb/CtC/Nationalism Revival
I'm honestly not up to date on whether or not you're already working on this, I just heard CtC was effectively removed. Not a whole lot to say on this but the idea can work if the reward is attractive enough.
3. Nerf Caprails
OK as a pirate I may be biased, but Jesus christ those things are annoying. I think it caters a bit too much to the runners, and honestly I think they tip the balance considering Golis are already efficient at getting past most players unharmed. But this isn't too big of a deal, just something I personally found a little unbalanced
4. LIMIT INFINITURBO
This topic has been through the ringer enough.
5. Add dynamic economy to a few more stations besides N2
6. Add mouselook function to gamepads, Already suggested
7. Add cosmetic features to achievements/badges
This is lower on the list because I know "beautifying" content rollout tend to take a while, but maybe add special camos/Weapon colors, effects/In game titles that are displayed in the chat etc.

Analog stick VS mouse will always have the latter on top control wise I understand that, but I think the input could be a bit more natural, of course, I'm not privy to how the actual ship mechanics (turn and pitch speed, weight, etc.) play into how possible it would be to streamline it, but if it's possible, that would be fantastic for us console raised losers.

Yes, players and guilds hold events, and they are beautiful, but maybe some weekly in-game events could work? One week team Capture the Flag/Cargo, another team death match, another..... Idk, space tag?

Hear me out. You could hold a plug in contest with an award for top 3 or something. It would reignite some of our plugin/skin creators motivation and would surely bring some awesome player made content to the game. Inspired by Fallout 4s Nvidia Mod Contest, where the most voted for mods won some gear and were featured on the mod list. It brought about some creative genius.
