LeberMac passed the tray thru Lecter's cell door, containing a rather large portion of freshly-slaughtered lamb chops that he'd obtained from that odd [DND] group, a bottle of Sedina Single-Malt Scotch, and a self-contained sonicube concert rendition of Bach's Clavierübung that he had rescued from the same ancient tradeship where he had found his famed tequila stash - Leber had never really liked harpsichord, and preferred Beethoven to Bach, but only marginally.

On top of the entire mess there was a note to accompany the pre-trial dinner: "If it ain't baroque, don't fix it."

LeberMac chuckled as he walked down the hall back to his ship. Since he would not be attending or testifying at the trial, he wondered if he'd ever see Lecter again. The outcome seemed... predetermined.

Ah well, back to patrol in Sedina. The pirates had taken to campping the Sedina to Latos wormhole in odd snowflake-like geometric arrangements, and it was his duty to attempt to escort the Xang-Xi traders, who were having a hard time of it.

I'm giving the files I've compiled a once-over when I get home, hopefully they've been shortened to a reasonable length >_<

I'll email them to Mogul, Leber and probably Bojan; they can distribute the files as necessary.

As counsel of record for the defendant, I hereby give notice that we will require a copy of all evidence provided to the [ITAN] prosecution.

well... he has the right.

All documents maintained for prosecution will be supplied to the defendant for cross examination and to prepare the defense. At this point, a panel of judges will be appointed.

As an unbiased Serco leader I would love to volunteer my services.

Borb, your nomination is not up to me.

But there MAY be a serco representative when the earring starts. I was thinking of Dragon Of Fire but hey... I wont make that decision myself.

Dragon of Fire? are you serious? as the defender for lecter?!??!

Borb and I were referring to the juge pannel.

As far as DoF is concerned, well, he IS serco isn't he?

Hes not a TRUE Serco, he will likely side with you guys instead

What's your point?
Feb 11, 2006 mgl_mouser link
Sooo....

You want an impartial Serco that will side with the Sercos?

thats not what i said, Id rather not have DoF on the Serco side when this starts

Get a Union guy, and make sure you pay him more to remain objective than either the Serco or the Itani!
Feb 11, 2006 MSKanaka link
I was actually thinking of suggesting that a guide known to roleplay (say, Ku Genin/Lodestone) or some other person, perhaps a member of the Vipers...

I will say that there is one Serco who could probably remain level-headed, despite his membership in SCAR... Mecha Touriuas.

EDIT: oops, forgot to say that DoF has been out of the game for a few months.

(1) I'm sorry, did you just suggest a VPR? For a position of OBJECTIVITY? Thank you, Ms. Kanaka. I'd like that suggestion recorded for later use as it reflects on your powers of observation and credibility as a witness :P

(2) Mecha and I have had an adversarial personal relationship that disqualifies him from acting as my judge. Not to mention the pressure to convict merely to show he's not letting a guildmate off the hook.

i'll judge yeh!
Feb 11, 2006 Dr. Lecter link
Thanks, but no thanks.

However, that does bring up a good point: since the Itani tend to be self-righteous little pricks, I assume they adhere to a "system of laws and not of men" approach. Direct me towards your law library, feeble non-synthetic argument producers! While you're at it, you'd better figure out a criminal procedure system that ensures due process.

If you guys are really going to go through with this, I suggest a tribunal. One judge from each nation. Any person from the guilds ITAN or SCAR will be prohibited.
